Maintenance Tech – to focus on production and facility maintenance in our new production and distribution center. As a “hand-on” trouble shooter, you will be an integral part of the team to reduce unscheduled downtime, maintain systems and machines at recommended schedules. This includes being responsible for troubleshooting and repair of our equipment, systems, and machines.

Certor Sports has some of the most iconic performance and sports brands in the country, including Schutt and VICIS, whose helmets are currently ranked first by both the NFL and Virginia Tech University’s Helmet Lab. Our innovative and cutting edge head-to-toe protective equipment is used for football, baseball, lacrosse, and hockey as we protect everyone from the Pros to Pee-wees.

Your daily work is scheduled and documented via the work order system, including CMMS. You will be responsible for high and low voltage electrical systems, automation systems and robots, mechanical systems, and production equipment such as forklifts, etc.

You will need to bring at least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience plus the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams for electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

• Promote safety awareness, housekeeping, organization, and communication.
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled on machines, systems, and equipment, documenting your activity in the CMMS.
• Troubleshoot machines, automated systems, and robots, (low voltage) manually or with a PLC.
• Install and maintain equipment using up to 480 volts and 3-phase (high voltage.)
• Work closely with department(s) leads for timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned which may include janitorial, training, safety committee, etc.

Requirements:

• The ability to work safely and efficiently alone or as part of a team to stay on schedule and ensure the facility and system are productive with minimal downtime.
• The ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment and systems that include pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial electronics, and mechanical systems.
• The ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and department SOP’s. This includes the ability to identify electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic wires, circuits, and connections with number and names.
• Possess the ability to machine, weld, and fabricate materials as well as use a drill press, saw, mill, lathe, grinder, etc.
• A degree or certificate related to engineering or industrial maintenance is highly preferred.
• 4 (four) years of industrial maintenance work is required as is experience with a work order system (CMMS).
