Job overview: We are seeking an energetic and motivated teammate who performs ongoing maintenance and preventative maintenance for our affordable housing properties. Responsibilities include the turnover of vacant units and periodic projects like weatherizing properties. Wages & Benefits:

  • Wage: $18-$20/hour depending on experience
  • Shift: 5 consecutive 8 hour days during standard business hours (shift TBD based on availability) and 24-hour on-call emergency repair service for all properties
  • Full-time benefits include medical, dental, 403b retirement plan, life insurance, and mileage reimbursement
  • Relay pays 100% of an employee’s medical, dental, and vision premiums
  • Paid time off, paid sick days, and paid holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings; supervisor licensed contractors as needed
  • Responsible for unit turnovers including minor plumbing and electric, appliance repair, wall patch, and paint, etc.
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with periodic work including gutter cleaning, winterizing, flushing water heaters and supply lines, painting parking lot lines, etc.
  • Utilize technology to open and close work orders
  • Available for on-call and emergency maintenance needs

  • 1-year minimum apartment maintenance experience
  • Experience in appliance repair, minor plumbing, electrical and painting
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to write and read simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
  • Able to perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and safe driving record
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screen upon acceptance of employment
