JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician A

PLANT/DEPARTMENT: RH Maintenance DIRECTED BY: EHS & Facilities Manager

DIRECTS: Maintenance Technicians

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Meets & demonstrates all safety requirements.
Performs a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical system, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment. Work requires an in-depth knowledge of various trades. Will assign, instruct, and lay out work for the Maintenance Technicians of lower classifications. Demonstrate the ability to meet routed hours with acceptable quality.

MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Be proficient at communication with all Team members.
  • To be able to teach and guide fellow Team members in their department as well as Team members from other departments.
  • Assign, schedule and prioritize workload for the department.
  • Daily and weekly report status to EHS & Facilities manager.
  • Knowledge and ability to test mechanical devices.
  • Read and interpret all types of prints and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and edit programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Proficient in preventative maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of test and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to trouble shoot electrical systems with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to trouble shoot mechanical systems with minimal assistance.
  • Proficient with all plant systems.
  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills.
  • Manage departmental budget.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computerized equipment PLC’s.
  • Ability to troubleshoot plant equipment including CNC, welding, paint equipment, etc.
  • Work with outside vendors to get quotes on purchasing items and schedule outside tech support if deemed needed by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
  • Proficient in electromechanical, PLC’s, refrigeration, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Five or more year’s industrial maintenance background.
  • General machine tool experience i.e., lathes and mills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Various positions including squatting, bending, standing, climbing, and sitting. May lift large and heavy parts up to 60 pounds.
