Job description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the efforts of the Facilities Management Construction Office regarding Capital Projects, Renovations and Facility Maintenance improvements.
Work Schedule: Flexible schedule – mainly second shift (4:00pm-12:30am)
Job Duties:
- Provides direct and indirect supervision of all Construction Division staff in performing their daily responsibilities; interviews and recommends employees for hire; trains, coaches and mentors staff; evaluates employee performance, prepares annual performance reviews and provides coaching for performance improvement; takes disciplinary action to address performance or other deficiencies.
- Assists in the planning, organization, direction, and coordination of major projects, including capital construction and facilities maintenance.
- Resolve construction issues in coordination with staff, third parties and other agencies.
- Review contract documents and assist with procurement and evaluations.
- Evaluates service requests, assigns work orders, schedules construction staff, monitors work progress in relation to schedule and budget.
- Assists with the establishment of specifications for all construction related installations, major maintenance, and special projects.
- Oversees and inspects field conditions and progress of work against project schedule.
- Evaluates work performed for adherence to institutional standards.
- Assists in the planning, supervising and allocation of the Construction Division resources and annual budget.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management is required.
Will accept experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
Seven (7) years of experience in construction, including progressive management experience is required.

- Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employee.
