We are looking for a Manager, Digital Marketing Strategy to join the Central Marketing department of Macmillan Publishers.
This individual will be responsible for developing and overseeing the digital marketing strategy for Macmillan branded channels. You will play an essential role in growing our overall digital presence and elevating how we show up across the digital landscape. In this role, you will use your deep expertise in digital strategy, customer journeys, and marketing communications to develop and execute plans demonstrating how these touch-points can maximize engagement, awareness, and drive conversions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build and execute digital marketing strategies to effectively engage online communities, including the email marketing programs (content and deployment), acquisition campaigns, influencer outreach, affiliate programs, and social.
- Maintain a comprehensive content calendar that reflect a multi-channel approach.
- Execute external marketing and content plans deployed across Macmillan branded channels.
- Oversee audience development and perform audits to enhance our community database.
- Advise on digital best practice for marketing plans executed by Macmillan publishers’ marketing and publicity teams.
- Assist in maintaining external website content in partnership with development teams and vendors.
- Write, edit and proof promotional materials and assets distributed across channels.
- Manage database and relationships with ESP and marketing automation vendors.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing and improving campaigns to reach new audiences, drive engagement and increase discoverability of our titles and authors.
- Stay on top of new tools, platforms, best practices, marketing trends, etc.
- Research and brainstorm new content opportunities and industry trends.
Experience and Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Expertise of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or comparable platform), SEO and Google Analytics.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated success executing marketing campaigns, including database management, list development, setup, testing, launching campaigns and programs, and reporting on campaign analytics.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Strategic thinker with a problem-solving attitude.
- Organized, with an innate attention to detail and can execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Learns quickly when facing new problems and can adapt to different situations.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Brings a commitment and enthusiasm to work within a dynamic organization.
Ideal Skills/Knowledge
- Strong project and process management skills
- Understanding of email marketing analytics, audience development, and segmentation.
- Knowledge of Google AdWords, Meta, TikTok, and Twitter advertising.
- Familiarity with building campaigns that use a variety of marketing channels and communications methods, including websites, email, ad platforms and social media.
- Experience with web content management tools (i.e., WordPress), and other marketing tools (i.e., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Sprout Social, etc.)
- Experience with HTML or CSS a plus.
Salary range for this role is: $65K - 70K.
