SUMMARY:
In this exciting position, the Manager of Annual Giving (Manager) will have the opportunity to have a significantly impact on Goodwill’s development initiatives by strengthening and refining an annual giving program that fully leverages direct mail and online strategies for raising funds and identifying, cultivating, and building a pipeline of major donors. Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the successful candidate will have a track record of success advancing a robust annual giving program including direct mail, as well as overseeing the database and outsourced resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the Senior Director and the direct mail vendor to develop the budget, key goals and objectives, and metrics for the direct mail program with an eye towards optimal results/ROI.
  • Overseeing all operational aspects of the direct mail program and providing project management and operational support for the overall annual giving program.
  • Serving as key liaison to the direct mail vendor, ensuring timely, high quality, cost effective deliverables.
  • Developing complementary online strategies to support for direct mail campaigns.
  • Leading the Philanthropy Department’s data definition, management, and reporting processes and driving the establishment of policies and procedures that ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Overseeing the gift processing and gift acknowledgement systems to ensure timely, personalized and efficient stewardship.
  • Working with the Finance Department to conduct monthly reconciliation of fundraising results.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to identify and cultivate donors for the Helms Society, Goodwill’s giving society.
  • Using strong writing skills to oversee the direct mail pieces and develop acknowledgements, follow-up letters, and other documents that encourage support for Goodwill.
  • Exploring, developing, and recommending multi-channel fundraising strategies to increase annual giving revenue and donor participation, including advances in direct mail, acquisition mail, online giving, and other new channels.
  • Keeping abreast of current trends and recommending innovative strategies and tactics.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional with demonstrated success in annual fund and direct mail.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience.
  • Strong database management and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of donor identification, cultivation, gift solicitation, and donor relations and stewardship.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of fundraising database management tools (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred) and proficiency in MS Office – Word and Excel.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of social media in fundraising and in reaching the next generation of donors a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is sophisticated, confidence-inspiring, energetic with a positive-can-do approach.
  • Flexible team player; a sense of humor a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
