Position Summary

The Manager of Infrastructure Services provides leadership and vision in operating procedures and programs, and technical planning for Information Technology Services; and manages a staff of professional and technical personnel.

This position manages the operational activities of multiple information technology and/or telecommunications systems and services in alignment with business objectives of Lincoln University and participates in activities required to plan, design, coordinate, implement, and support cost-effective technology-based systems and services.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and coordinates administrative functions relating to IT practices and procedures, personnel policies, and special projects.
  • Manages activities of employees, vendors, and service providers to provide service stability, availability, and completion of customer requests.
  • Ensures efficient and effective responses to process failures and service interruptions, develops methods to revive failures and interruptions.
  • Works closely with the Chief Information Officer to manage programs, such as Grants and Project Funds.
  • Interacts with peers, customers, and organizational leaders to understand and represent the needs and requirements of each.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lead and manage teams of technical, professional, and clerical staff to meet customer needs and achieve university goals within time, budget, and resource constraints.
  • Ability to learn new systems and solutions quickly with little to no formal training.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working on multiple projects at one time.
  • High level initiative, independence, and maturity in all aspects of work.
  • Uses creative and critical thinking techniques to identify and implement new ways to improve and manage products, services, and service delivery.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution or actively pursuing a degree is required.
  • Two years' experience in networking, data storage, data backup and recovery systems, server infrastructure, and enterprise internet connections is preferred.
