In June 2020, Prudential Advisors was joined by Hybrid Advice and Digital Advice capabilities which were previously part of the Customer Office, to form Retail Advice and Solutions (RAS), one organization focused on delivering advice and guidance to a broader range of customers — when, where and how they want to engage with Prudential.

The Retail Advice and Solutions Finance team is responsible for:

• Providing RAS Distribution leaders with insightful and actionable analytics to help drive our growth strategy and deliver against our economic goals.

• Provide thought leadership and go beyond traditional financial analysis to drive decision-making and strategic thinking.

• Educate and support RAS management’s understanding of our financial results and build upon their financial acumen.

• Develop RAS multi-channel sales forecasts, key drivers, forecast assumptions, analytics and annual sales planning through collaboration with business partners.

• Oversight of preparation and analysis of RAS multi-channel, sales, revenue, variable distribution expenses and business P/L’s.

• Foster partnerships with distribution channel leads and their teams; support Sales, Product and Distribution Partners in driving profitable sales growth

• Develop and support various distribution strategic and transformational business cases for projected new growth and/or cost efficiencies

• Identify efficiencies and process improvements, enhancing controls and documentation to allow more time for insightful analytics

• Work closely with our business partners to ensure RAS success in achieving a strong cost discipline across all functions

• Support Business Unit, Corporate and Enterprise initiatives

• Enhancing talent and bench strength through employee development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion

There is currently one manager opening for a highly motivated person with strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, financial, analytical and management skills. The position will offer visibility to all levels of RAS management and provide a big picture understanding of RAS economics and distribution strategy for our future.

The Manager responsibilities of this position will include:

• Help drive strategic and transformational business case development for Pru Advisors, Prudential’s captive distribution system

• The successful candidate will interact with the RAS Finance team as well as with members of RAS Senior Management team and business partners throughout Prudential Advisors in Compensation, Field Planning & Analysis, Recruiting & Development.

• Lead Pru Advisors Variable Expense driver and assumption discussions for multi-year forecast and annual planning, which includes complex Advisor and Field Management compensations; partner directly with different business partners to understand, challenge and validate key drivers and assumptions, driving improvement of contribution margin.

• Provide quarterly P&L trending, ratio, analysis to RAS senior leaders to facilitate performance management and decision making.

• Partner with Pru Advisors in developing new initiatives to support Four Pillar Growth strategy including Teaming, Leads, Financial Planning & Investments and Recruiting (new Advisors).

• Develop producer and product margin analysis in supporting Pru Advisors to deliver financial goals when assessing a large portfolio of top line revenue and variable compensation that is constantly evolving.

• Partner with RAS Initiative Owners on Transformation Office initiatives by sizing P&L and AOI impacts required for submission.

• Lead the creation of Firm Level P&L to measure the economics of individual firms.

• Develop Prudential Insurance Agency (PIA) board meeting financial packages, dividend recommendation, and present at PIA’s annual board meeting.

• Act as a main point of contact for Pru Advisors VNB process

• Responsible for RAS Net Distribution Expenses multi-year forecast and quarterly close, including Pru Advisors, ILI Third Party distribution, Digital and Personal Advisors Group, with insightful analytics to support ILI MFU and QRRP decks.

• Continually developing and evaluating new value-add tools to measure Prudential Advisors’ economics

• Identify and develop Distribution Strategy, Execution and Analysis priorities, driving an environment of continuous improvement and support

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics (MBA or CPA a plus).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience.

• Prior experience in Planning & Analysis and/or Financial reporting of business line results; Prior financial modeling experience is preferred.

• Solid understanding of retail distribution and advisor economics

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to influence indirect reporting relationships and business partners

• Highly motivated and creative/strategic thinker

• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to succeed both independently and as part of team

• Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines

• Strong PC Skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Ability to work overtime during peak periods
