The Job/What You’ll Do:
The PR & Communications Manager will work closely with the head of Communications to execute the PR strategy and support day-to-day Corporate Communications. Working closely with stakeholders across the firm, including senior and executive leaders and functional content owners, the PR & Communications Manager is responsible for developing content for external audiences. The PR & Communications Manager will manage proactive and reactive media relations, working closely with AssetMark’s PR agency partners and internal SMEs. The role will report to the Head of Communications.
This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Communications in developing and implementing our external communications programs in alignment with the firm’s broader business goals
- Assist in managing day-to-day activities of PR agency and serve as a liaison between agency and internal SMEs/stakeholders
- Collaborate with senior leaders to develop strategic communications campaigns on product launches, thought leadership, events, etc., and promote in compelling and creative ways
- Develop content and resources that establish and reinforce AMK values, brand/positioning, and priorities, such as:
- Award nominations/entries
- Press releases
- Website copy
- Presentation content
- Byline articles
- Social media content
- Manage measurement and reporting of PR success metrics and milestones
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a diverse portfolio of written work (samples required)
- Proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft applications
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering high-quality work
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent field
- 5+ years of PR and/or communications experience either in-house or at an agency
- A track record of developing and delivering communication strategies
- Strong experience working closely with journalists and responding to media requests
- Experience working in the financial services industry – preferred
- Background in developing varied collateral for external audiences – preferred
