SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will help direct, coordinate and actively participate in creating a sustainable culture of continuous improvement with focus on manufacturing processes and supporting infrastructure (process monitoring, process technology development, SPC, PM development, training). Key Responsibilities include assessment of the current manufacturing infrastructure and activities, development of the future state vision, and execution to reach future state. The role encompasses all product segments within the Denver Plant and may interact with other Band-It plants around the world regarding equipment & process standardization. The Manufacturing Engineer will meet key Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets. The Manufacturing Engineer will also prioritize and deploy Six Sigma / Lean tools across the factory to implement process and product improvements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Actively support and participate in EHS programs and standards as well as driving improvements in equipment and processes around those standards.
  • Assess current state of manufacturing equipment and systems and drive future state vision of standardized manufacturing hardware and software (controls and networking / data architecture).
  • Work across functions and departments to develop, document and standardize processes and procedures for current products and equipment
  • Confer with sales, planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and quality results.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the analysis of equipment / process problems to reduce defects and unscheduled downtime
  • Identify root cause and developing / implementing cost effective process changes
  • Lead / Role model a disciplined methodology of equipment / process change control methodology
  • Lead process development and optimization of new production equipment and machines
  • Work with department supervisors, maintenance, and manufacturing personnel to develop and document and standardize processes and procedures for current products and equipment (Setup, Change over, Troubleshooting, & PM’s)
  • Assist with training operators on processes and procedures
  • Train and mentor employees in improvement techniques to build a stronger lean / continuous improvement culture
  • Assist in support documentation of processes to maintain conformity throughout production (i.e. process maps, dashboards, FMEAs, and control plans)
  • Develop IQ, OQ, PQ methodology for new equipment / process builds
  • Other duties assigned by Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Excellent computer and technological skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated experience of mechanical, electrical, controls systems design and layout in CAS (Solidworks)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of related professional work experience
  • Experience in a high volume (>400,000 units per day) manufacturing environment a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvements

  • Requires use of hands and arms at least 60% of the time.

Compensation:
  • Target Salary: $70,000-$85,000 depending on experience
  • Bonus: This position is eligible to participate in our annual bonus program
