As part of US Commercial organization, the Market Access – Lead Data Architect is responsible for the execution of patient services and Market Access data strategy for Oncology portfolio. This role works in cross collaboration with Commercial Patient Services, Commercial Analytics, Trade & Distribution, Access & Reimbursement, and external partners. This role will lead a team of Project Managers and BSAs to support the strategic and tactical needs of Market Access organization.
The Market Access – Lead Data Architect is the technology account executive, business relationship manager, and portfolio manager for an integrated brand team. An integrated brand team consists of business functions like Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Finance, Marketing Analytics, HEOR, and others that are all organized around a common set of goals and strategies for a particular set of products.
The Market Access – Lead Data Architect will stay on top of technology trends and perform the required technical research and due diligence when necessary to recommend the use of new technology capabilities, balancing opportunities for innovation, business benefits, existing IT standards, and IT roadmaps. This position is responsible for planning and overseeing a portfolio of technology projects from ideation to completion, including securing cross-functional alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. This role is expected to work effectively across various BTS shared services’ teams, external Marketing Agencies, and other Commercial business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the Market Access, Supply Chain, and Access & Reimbursement business processes and gaps. Responsible for identifying and defining solutions to address business demand.
- Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners. Effectively manage communications and expectations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work directly with Market Access function to understand specific business needs.
- Collect complete and accurate requirements by means of interviews, workflow analyses, facilitated discussion to deliver data or technology solutions.
- Identify and communicate needs and opportunities for business process improvements that can be enabled via data or technology.
- Provide ROI on data contracting with pharmacies, working with Legal and Purchasing organizations to finalize these contracts with Data suppliers, Specialty Pharmacies, Analytic partners, and Research partners.
- Proactively understand Market Access (MA) and Brand strategies, educate MA teams on existing technology capabilities, and influence/develop capabilities roadmaps.
- Review and approve data specifications, solution architecture, process flows, and data sharing with AbbVie internal Privacy, Compliance & OEC teams. Drive coordination with respect to getting timely reviews and approvals from external partners.
- Coordinate the implementation of Specialty pharmacy data integration solutions with Commercial Data Lake and Snowflake teams.
- Provide support to Supply chain and MABI team in preparing for Quarterly business reviews.
- Coordinate change management processes with Market Access teams and MA360 BTS team with respect to Oncology portfolio.
- Ensure successful transition of data solutions to Commercial Data Lake operations team.
- Resolve issues in an appropriate and timely manner by working with Operations team.
- Work independently with external stakeholders to manage Third Party agreements, Supplier evaluation and Compliance with AbbVie data policies.
- Support HEOR organization on Real World Evidence studies with external partners and internal analysis for Specialty portfolio patient services.
- Work collaboratively with HEOR, Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to plan and execute Value Base Engagement initiatives for specialty portfolio.
- Learn best practices for Specialty pharmacy data, data integration, aggregation, reporting, and data quality monitoring and propose ideas for Oncology portfolio.
- Build competency in Market Access and Patient Services data sets such as Rebate Data, EDI Sales & Chargeback Data, Master Data, Copay Data, Medical and Prescription claims data, Care model data etc.
- Learn how data is structured, how it is sourced, processed, and orchestrated for end user consumption. Become familiar with data solutions, big-data architecture & concepts, use of big data tools (Hive, Impala, Python, R etc.) to read/write data programs and answer critical business questions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
- Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding in software engineering, business, information systems, or a discipline closely related to the client area served.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL, Dataiku, storytelling, and dashboarding tools.
- 3+ years of experience working with patient level data like SHA PTD, IQVIA APLD and LAAD, EDI such as 867, 852, 844, 850, 810, 845, Truven, and/or Real-World Evidence.
- Hands-on experience with Data Lake and Snowflake architecture and Bigdata tools and technologies.
- Strong understanding of data management disciplines including Data Warehousing, Data Integration, Data Visualization, Advanced Analytics, Big Data Platforms/Elastic Scale, Artificial Intelligence, and other data centric technologies.
- Experience working within Market Access, Specialty Pharmacy, and/or Supply Chain/Trade.
- Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advanced the business.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication and strong analytical skills. Proven ability to build trust, listen and ask effective questions.
- Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical and healthcare business and good knowledge of the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions is preferred.
