Job Summary:

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a junior, full-time Marketing and Communications Specialist member to join a dynamic team of communication professionals. The newest member of our team will be creative, organized, assertive and proactive with excellent communication skills and a desire to make healthcare communications their career. Strong writing, video experience and storytelling skills a plus. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to support the Public Relations efforts for Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
  • Identifies stories and writes, edits, manages news releases and feature stories for the medical center.
  • Coordinates and conducts interviews.
  • Drafts internal employee communications.
  • Writes executive messages for internal and external publications.
  • Assists with coordination of employee communications newsletter and executive messages.
  • Plans and develops employee and physician communication programs in coordination with AVP of Strategic Marketing and Communications, Assistant Director and Corporate Communications team.
  • Plans and develops physician communication programs in coordination with the AVP.
  • Develops content for brochures, flyers and educational material for patient and employees.
  • Supports and promotes special events in support of strategic marketing objectives.
  • Schedules and coordinates photo shoots and filming sessions.
  • Provides proofreading assistance.
  • Support the internal video monitoring system.
  • Creates and maintains digital signage images.
  • Attends special events on nights and weekends.
  • Plans and develops content for websites and social media in collaboration with the AVP and Assistant Director.
  • Maintains and updates information on website for CBMC departments and services.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of marketing/public relations experience preferred, healthcare experience desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, Hootsuite, Creative Suite Canva.
  • Photography and video editing skills.
  • Strong familiarity with social media outlets including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Exceptional writing abilities.
  • Must be able to work independently and handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
