Job Description:

We are seeking a self-motivated candidate to join our marketing team to coordinate and implement the efforts of our highly active and growing California offices in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have familiarity or previous experience with marketing and business development in the legal industry that will help the firm’s continued growth.

This role will require business development efforts, such as overseeing client pitches, and identifying new business opportunities stemming from marketing initiatives. In this position, the candidate will also work with attorneys to develop new clients and grow relationships with existing clients. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate business development, prepare responses to RFPs, and engage in social media management.

The Marketing and Business Development Coordinator reports to the Marketing Manager and Marketing Leadership Team, and works closely with various practice areas on business development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to attract and retain clients.
  • Draft materials and coordinate pitches, RFPs and other new business opportunities.
  • Draft, edit, and submit ranking and survey submissions.
  • Draft attorney bios.
  • Support attorneys with client alerts and articles.
  • Contribute ideas to increase brand awareness, including client-facing activities such as speaking engagements, media interviews, and sponsored events.
  • Assist attorneys with editing and placing bylined articles in key legal, trade, and business publications. Repurpose client alerts, blogs, and other marketing communications tools for media pitches.
  • Conduct analyses of clients, markets, and competitors.
  • Build on the firm’s existing social and digital platforms by soliciting, creating, and posting impactful content that reflects the priorities and culture of the firm and maximizes engagement with diverse audiences
  • Enter practice group data into various knowledge management systems, including contact lists, diversity charts, and the firm's internal database of files.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be resourceful and proactive.
  • Successful candidates are creative, detail-oriented, and have the capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of marketing experience. Direct experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms, mechanics, patterns, tools, and measurement.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media strategies with regards to legal issues and brand management, as well as experience proactively managing a firm/company’s online reputation.
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with legal and business environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing with a range of stakeholders, including attorneys, staff, and vendors.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies and resources.

The annual salary range for this California-based position is $65,000-$75,000, and represents Walsworth’s reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant experience, and qualifications.
