Position summary: The Marketing & Communications Coordinator (MCC) is responsible for Goodwill’s marketing, public relations and special events. The MCC will set and monitor measurable marketing goals for the organization and each business unit to ensure increased community support and public awareness.
Essential functions:
- Design, implement marketing goals and strategies to increase public awareness and community support for the organization.
- Prepare, coordinate and oversee all print, broadcast and electronic media, including: billboards, advertising, annual reports, retail and drop box signage and other corporate communications.
- Coordinate and maintain all social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.); update sites regularly and monitor visitor trends; research and upgrade based on industry trends and best practices.
- Promote monthly food bank live feeds on Goodwill’s social media platforms.
- Coordinate with Webmaster; update website regularly and monitor visitor trends; research and upgrade based on industry trends and best practices.
- Create and maintain various databases of existing and potential business customers, vendors, community organizations, media, program participants, staff, board, volunteers and donors for mass mailings and electronic communications.
- Develop and implement ideas for creative marketing campaigns to represent Goodwill at events throughout the county.
- Work with department manager to develop, market and coordinate company special events, including annual employee events anniversaries, birthdays, and award programs.
- Attend Ohio Goodwill Association marketing meetings and ensure agency participation in state and national Goodwill campaigns; utilize national and state marketing materials as appropriate.
- Pursue professional career development through continuing education and training opportunities.
- Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
- Responsible for other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
- Detailed-oriented with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision, time management skills essential.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and public speaking experience.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; ability to build strong community networks.
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record and proof of current auto insurance required every six months.
- Strong computer skills including MS office; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dream weaver, etc.
- Design and Premiere; competency in social media marketing
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in marketing or public relations.
- Significant experience in the field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Other Requirements:
- Frequent local travel. Some evenings and weekend meetings and events.
