POSITION FUNCTION
Under the general supervision of the CEO, assists in the planning and implementation of all marketing and public relation activities. Assists with the implementation of marketing research and product development activities. Formulates market research and product development budgets to generate additional Credit Union business, promote Credit Union’s image and increase market share.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists in the development and implementation of retail marketing plans and budgets in accordance with corporate and retail objectives. Analyzes and provides comment on regional and local economical environments and influences, maintains database for measuring Credit Union marketing performance and prepares market forecasts.
2. Assumes responsibility for marketing goals within the strategic plan.
3. Assists the department heads with targeted marketing plans.
4. Assists with the development and implementation of all research projects relating to deposit acquisitions, competitive position, consumer attitudes, service quality, retail market segment identification. Gather all relevant data, organizes data and subjects it to in-depth analysis. Formulates supportable conclusions and prepares recommendations for management. Coordinates services of outside vendors (i.e., printing, ad specialties)
5. Assists department heads with the development and implementation of new retail products and the modification of existing products, including legal requirements, processing, forms, costing pricing and functional design. Monitors product performance and prepares appropriate reports for management and board review.
6. Meets with Marketing Committee to discuss current marketing strategies and presents recommendations for approval.
7. Assumes role as liaison to and works with advertising agencies in the development and implementation of Credit Union advertising and marketing programs; formulates and coordinates in-house advertising and marketing programs, monitors all marketing and advertising expenses.
8. Interviews venders relative to advertising and promotional materials; receives and screens all requests for Credit Union participation in advertising projects, and sponsorship or donations.
9. Maintains member database for the measurement and analysis of product usage and preference trends.
10. Ensures to continuous flow of appropriate information necessary to identify and assess problematic situations and business opportunities, to management.
11. Prepares budgets for market research and product development activities, administers expenditures and monitors for variances and unanticipated needs.
12. Responsible for writing all press releases, scripts, brochures, etc. involving the Credit Union.
13. Responsible for coordinating all community related events.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a required level of quality and quantity of work.
- Ensures that the quality and quantity of work performed within the area of responsibility is maintained at acceptable levels.
- Represents the Credit Union to the community in a manner designed to maintain and expand business relationships.
- Performs related clerical and routine administrative functions as required.
- Completes special projects when assigned.
- Continues to acquire the necessary education to maintain knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Ensures credit union confidentiality.
- Acts a Credit Union photographer and records Credit Union events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/or related equipment.
2. Eye coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal.
3. Sitting at desk or computer workstation for periods of time.
4. Travels to Credit Union facilities/locations as required.
5. Moves around credit union between levels or floors while performing duties.
6. Bending and stretching in work area.
7. Lifts books, ledgers, records, etc.
