Job Description

AEL-Span/Walker SCM is looking for a Material Coordinator for our operation in Louisville, Kentucky. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence on a daily basis. AEL-SPAN’s primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

Summary of Position:
The Material Coordinator is responsible for providing a high level of excellent customer service, while providing support to the Operations Management team to ensure the success of the facility.

Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Participates in 8D report preparation when required
• Interfaces with carriers and sets up pickups/deliveries as needed
• Assists in the preparation of shipping documents
• Maintains records as assigned
• Answers incoming calls/emails into the facility
• Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of ASN’s for outgoing shipments
• Responsible for ensuring all necessary paperwork is sent to the customer on a daily basis
• Review client web portal for updated information and input data into the client web portal
• Provides responsive communication with customers as needed
• Supports facility personnel to ensure the assigned duties are performed
• Communicates late deliveries, order changes, missed information and tracking numbers to customers as needed
• Provides responses and/or details on shipments/receipts in customer’s systems, and reports as required
• Attends QOS meetings as required
• Responsible for data entry/manipulation
• Assists with daily cycle counts and receiving order discrepancies to ensure orders close properly
• Transfer damaged or obsolete material to quarantine daily for accurate shortage reporting

JOB SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

• Monitor completion of required documentation for shipping, receiving, inventory, safety, and product audit
• Communicate continuous improvement suggestions to management

Skills / Key Qualifications

• Knowledge of warehousing preferred
• Average computer skills
• Proficient communication skills
• High School Diploma

• Proficient in English

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
• May require continuous standing, lifting, bending, reaching and stooping throughout each shift.
• Some assignments may involve continuous repetitive motions.
