Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Overall management and development of Materials department personnel and resources in support of business needs and growth.

· Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors and leads to ensure material and machine availability in line with schedule.

· Complies and maintains computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports and production schedule.

· Directs the efforts of purchasing, scheduling, and distribution personnel to accomplish company objectives.

· Responsible for the management and accuracy of inventory.

· Develops policies and procedures for the operation of the scheduling, material inventory, and procurement activities.

· Develops metrics and monitors and reports on performance and areas for improvement.

· Assists finance with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.

· Provide leadership and mentoring for existing and new employees.

· Develop and manage department expense and capital budgets.

· Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities and initiatives.

· Identify and support continuous improvement and lean material flow opportunities and initiatives.

· Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalence in accumulated work experience. Formal management or business training (MBA) a plus.

· 5-10 years management experience in a Materials or development role. Preferably within growth oriented machining or hardware/machinery environment.

· Experience with and general understanding of FDA QSR’s and ISO 13485 requirements as applied to equipment or medical device manufacture

· Must have strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to work constructively in difficult situations both internally and externally (with customers and suppliers).

· Strong verbal, communication, and computer skills.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills with good experimental and documentation habits

· Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work in a highly dynamic and growing environment

· Detail oriented with a high level of emphasis on accuracy and completeness

· Light to moderate physical exertion required
