Materials Requisitioner
Novelis is the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, producing an estimated 19 percent of the world's flat-rolled aluminum products. We work alongside our customers to provide innovative solutions to the aerospace, beverage can, automotive and high-end specialty markets.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Novelis has approximately 11,600 employees in 33 operating facilities on four continents and is investing $2.5 billion to build a new low-carbon recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette, Alabama. The highly advanced facility will serve growing demand for aluminum beverage can sheet in North America. The new facility will also serve the automotive market, where aluminum is the fastest growing material as automakers make plans to achieve their sustainability goals. It will strive to be net carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2, be powered primarily by renewable energy, use recycled water and be a zero-waste facility.
The Material Requisitioner are responsible for ensuring that material and services are efficiently ordered and are assigned projects. They will ensure program material and services needs are met through facilitation and coordination between Project Managers, Production, Purchasing, Engineering and Logistics. They will be required to address and resolve issues involving material and services orders, job schedules, etc. where necessary.
Responsibilities
Liaison between Program Material Management and Project Management to ensure seamless flow of information- Represents material matters in all Program/Project meetings for a specified program
- Assists in ensuring that material deficiencies are cured and supports closure of trial cards related to material matters
- Assists in the coordination of material transfers with Logistics, Engineering, and Project Management personnel to ensure material availability to meet production schedules
- Establishes business need and ensures that all approvals are signed off and supporting documentation is provided
- Troubleshoots material and service orders and proactively escalates issues to mitigate problems in meeting delivery schedules
- Gathers status and facilitates closure of Supplier Correction Action Reports (SCARs)
- Holds status meetings with Procurement individuals and other departments and sends out meeting actions and expected completion dates
- Gathers and reports material status in support of scheduling decisions; supports Material Program Coordinators and Lead in analyzing material and/ or subcontractor requisitions, purchase orders, and information from POCs to evaluate risks related to material availability versus schedule requirements and summarizes results
- Prepares written and/or graphic material to convey information to the Site Construction Manager
- Supports Material Program Manager on material related matters where significant risks are apparent and in preparation for various executive meetings
- Supports coordination of schedules for material and services as requested and ensures Purchasing Department expedites delivery when necessary to meet schedule requirements or establish best delivery date available
- Reviews requisitions for assigned materials, parts and/or services and verifies specifications with requester as necessary
- Prepares and distributes Procurement reports to track and communication to project management
- Supports Material Program Planner to ensure Wanted Receipt Dates are accurate on Purchase Requisitions and are adhered to by Purchasing
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, preferably for capital projects
- Ability and willingness to work in a multicultural team with multifunctional experts
- Attention to detail
- Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to take initiative
- Ability to build relationships with internal collaborators and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a multinational company
- SAP Procurement knowledge and experience

Location Profile:Novelis’ newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile, AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola, FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying, advanced careers in modern manufacturing and become fully operational in 2025.
