Job description
The role of the Math Intervention Specialist is to provide individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically in math either online or on site. This position requires significant organizational and technological prowess and the ability to multi-task effectively. Strong candidates enjoy differentiating curriculum in order to target specific learning goals, developing strong connections with students and families through consistent and positive communication, and working closely and actively as a member of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Using school assessment data as a guide, and in partnership with the content teachers and academic leadership team to provide targeted intervention sessions that leads to increased academic achievement of students and identified student groups
● Instructs students in Math within a small classroom environment and/or 1 on 1 situation both onsite and in online formats
● Creates and delivers lessons based on focus areas for students in Math either online or onsite
● Aligns instruction with standards, and student data;
● Attends Student Success Team meetings and assists team in developing individual strategies for success
● Follows up with students and families regarding sessions assigned and attendance
● Invites students to support sessions during open periods and provides direct instruction in small groups
● Collects growth data in the area of Math that is standards based
● Conduct and research new intervention practices/strategies
● Shares data with the content and academic leadership team
● Understands how to collaboratively plan with instructional staff to effectively analyze and use data to implement intervention programs
● Continuously monitors progress of students receiving intervention services, in order to adjust instructional practice and student grouping
● Provides support for all levels of mathematics
● Maintains tracking system which indicates student appointment times, progress, and areas of improvement
● Monitors student performance within the areas of class work, attendance and discipline as needed
● Other duties as required Preferred Certification and Experience:
● Experience as a high school or middle school math teacher
● Proficient in MS Excel, MSWord, and Google programs (including Google Meet, Sheets and Drive)
● Proven track record of successfully supporting students in math
● Experience in providing instruction in an online environment
● Single Subject Teaching Credential in Math preferred
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
● Must receive clearance of the Criminal Record Check.
● Must supply proof of a negative TB test.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
