2nd shift - Monday through Friday 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm (OPEN)

- Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Director
Mechanic's Position Purpose and Objectives
Mechanic's job is to assist in maintaining a smooth production operation by performing a daily routine of maintaining equipment, of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Also repairing, changeovers, machinery set up and minor installation of production equipment and also scheduled preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Mechanic's must follow all GMPs and relevant SOPs.
- Responsible for daily minor troubleshooting and repair of packaging machines and equipment.
- Maintains machine parts and keeps change over tooling in good condition.
- Provides general preventive maintenance to packaging machines and equipment as required.
- Responsible for filling all required maintenance documentation (Cleaning Logs, Parts Requisition Maintenance Report, Daily Quality Checks, and Part Requisition Sheets) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure all safety components/guarding from all packaging machines and equipment are operational and in proper use.
- Strives to increase productivity by completing maintenance, changeovers and repair work in timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and determines inventory spare part levels.
- Must demonstrate a level I, II or II of mechanical, electrical troubleshooting.
- Must show aptitude to increase to the next level.
- Must have basic machine shop knowledge and be able to operate machines like a drill press, vertical/horizontal band saw, etc. and work with power tools.

- This individual must be able to read and apply the information contained in the line set-up specification, to promptly and efficiently perform change over operations.

Physical Demands
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling, push/pull.
- Ability to climb ladders/step ladders.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Decision making environment, strong interaction with line personnel, production supervisors, shift managers, and other supporting groups.
- Busy, active, and noisy plant environment, some areas may be dusty and powdery.
- Job will generally be performed in the packaging areas and machine shop.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Adequate communication, excellent mechanical, and problem solving skills.
- Must show some mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Must have basic machine shop knowledge and work well with tools.
- 3-6 years as an automotive Mechanic will be considered.
- Automotive, Boat, Food or printing industry mechanic will be considered.
