Job description
Mechanic III (1st shift)
Must diagnose, examine and repair plant equipment that malfunctions. Will repair by dismantling or partially dismantling machines mainly by the use of hand tools. Will replace, fit or repair broken, worn or defective parts, order replacement parts as necessary. Will re-assemble machines, making all necessary adjustments for proper operation. Will be required to install new machinery or heavy equipment as plant layouts are changed. Must have a good working knowledge of blue print reading, standard shop math and be able to utilize instruction and parts manuals.
Will encounter: dirty, greasy, oily, and dusty conditions, climbing ladders and stairs, lifting, pulling, pushing, reading, writing, use of power trucks, lifts, cranes, hoists, squatting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, use of power tools, such as: threaders, cutoff saws, benders, presses, drills, welders and soldering tools, jack hammers, etc. The Mechanic III works under the direction of the Mechanic I and under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. Standing & Walking required for nearly the entire shift.

Experience Required:
Preferred two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
