Job description

We are seeking a Setup person to become an integral part of our team! This position is responsible for setting up or stamping presses. We are looking for an experienced hire. Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply for our press operator openings.

We do a wide variety of different jobs and parts for different OEMs. There is a predictable work schedule, Monday -Thursday with occasional mandatory overtime on Fridays (max would be two weeks per month). There are abundant opportunities for voluntary overtime on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Summary
: Set-up, adjust and prepare mechanical and hydraulic presses to produce parts in accordance with specifications. Run job as outlined on the routing or job instruction sheet, verifying and maintaining part quality, including 1st piece inspection.


Requirements

  • Set-up, adjust and prepare mechanical and hydraulic presses to produce parts in accordance with specifications.
  • Must be able to find and set dies in press using forklift or electric die cart.
  • Must be able to determine pin lengths.
  • Must be able to call up a program and set dies to the program.
  • Must be able to verify the quality of the part and adjust press to get a quality part.
  • Must be able to use knock-outs and airbags as part of setup if required.
  • Fine and place coil on mandrel or in a cradle.
  • Secure coil.
  • String coil into press.
  • Adjust rollers.
  • Align to die (front to back and left to right).
  • If program doesn’t exist, must be able to make a program (Set feed lengths, set pilots and overrides).
  • Correctly use and set die protection and sensors.
  • Setup part and scrap conveyors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to read and work from blueprints
  • Ability to become forklift certified.


Shifts:

1st: Monday - Thursday 4am-2pm, Occasional overtime on Friday's OR Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm Friday 4am-noon

2nd: Monday - Thursday 2pm - Midnight, Occasional overtime on Friday's
