Develop and update mechanical criteria and building prototype drawings for new stores. Apply mechanical expertise related to HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration systems to support renovation and maintenance of existing stores. Colaborate with Team Members, Consultants and Stake Holders to continually improve store building designs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, update and implement mechanical and plumbing criteria for new store designs.- Manage engineering consultants in the development and maintenance of building protype drawings.
- Evaluate proposed changes to prototype drawings, with respect to constructability, efficiency, quality and cost, and make recommendations with regard to implementation.
- Perform engineering calculations to support mechanical designs.
- Provide mechanical engineering support (HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, etc.) to support other departments including Construction, Maintenance and Operations.
- Evaluate mechanical designs and building equipment for energy efficiency, and make recommendations regarding energy-saving measures.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5+
Licenses: Registered Professional Engineer preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and PDF editors, such as Bluebeam, as well as AutoCAD.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Working knowledge of building codes including IBC, IPC, IMC and IECC International Codes, as well as engineering standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, UL, etc.
- Experience in the design and operation of HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial buildings and restaurants.
