Mechanical Safety Technician
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Repairs, tests, calibrates, modifies, and maintains various pieces of mechanical equipment such as, but not limited to; Patient Beds, Wheelchairs, Exam Tables, Stretchers, Over-Bed Tables, Scales, etc… Also performs support for other department/health system needs, duties, functions as needed.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Associates Degree or technical training in various mechanical and technical systems or equivalent and relevant experience preferred. At least two years of technical experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must have valid driver’s license and must have a driving record that allows the Health System Insurance carrier to cover the incumbent.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and repair concepts, applicable codes and standards. Ability to read and interpret complex OEM troubleshooting and repair manuals. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with patients, physicians, families, managers, and members of the community under varied conditions. Excellent organizational and critical-thinking skills required.
