Position Summary for Medical Admin Assistant

Assist the Nursing units with obtaining and maintaining medical and administrative information in accordance with current Federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulation.

    File resident information and other documents on a regular basis as directed by Unit Manager.
    Receives and handles telephone calls for the Nursing Unit(s).
    Check lab book to ensure lab results have been received.
    Keep and maintain tracking of MD visits and due dates of history and physicals.
    Receives and assists visitors and callers and refers them to the appropriate individual(s).
    Makes reservations and coordinates booking of resident's appointments and transportation.
    Keep unit specific information in order, i.e., meal intake sheets, staff assignments, team sheets, etc.
    Maintain medical records, i.e. resident charts, discharge records, testing results, consultant reports in accordance with facility guidelines.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training including Medical Terminology; Must have strong customer service/typing/computer/phone skills.
