Medical Biller Position - Charlotte, NC

A dermatology office in Charlotte, NC seeking a Medical Biller/Account Receivable to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, friendly and able to multi-task in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Review and analyze insurance claims being sent electronically on a daily basis
• Understanding of medical terminology, medical billing practices and billing reimbursement is essential
• Reviews patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims billing for maximum reimbursement
• Reviews explanations of benefits from primary, secondary and tertiary payers to determine if payment was made correctly and if denials can be re-billed

• Promptly responds to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies and departments
• Post electronic and manual insurance payments
• Work daily with EOB & patient payments.
• Timely management of unpaid claims as assigned, aging reports; correspondence; and clearinghouse rejections;
• Knowledgeable of medical EOB’s, patient deductibles and co pays, and insurance or third party correspondence
• Expert ability to input specific data and review patients’ issues and credits

Must have two years of medical billing experience.

Strong customer service skills; answering patient and carrier calls; prompt return and follow up to all interactions; prompt response to requests for information
Strong computer skills and medical software experience.
Strong ability to continue to learn medical billing
Strong communication with the practice manager.
Monthly meeting with practice manager
