Position at Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida, Clearwater
A Division of Florida Orthopaedic Institute
To provide financial counseling to patients with account questions, outstanding balances and/or collections of patient AR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service skills by taking calls from patients, answering questions, problem solving and assisting with concerns in a timely matter.
- Handle requests to the Financial Counselor and Business Office Restricted email account research accounts and provide prompt feedback regarding patient balance to requesting party.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service qualities at all times with patients, and co-workers.
- Contact patients with any outstanding balances in an attempt to collect
- Take patient payments over the phone via company software
- Have an understanding in reading and explaining an EOB
- Interact with and counsel patients in person and via telephone in a professional matter regarding payments and other relevant financial issues.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures including punctuality, attendance and dress code set forth by Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
- Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years experience in medical billing/collections environment
- Call Center experience
- Must be able to multi-task
- Fast paced environment
- Bilingual a plus
