Seeking a mid-level to experienced medical front office receptionist in a busy ophthalmology practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Processes paperwork for new patients in an efficient and timely manner
• Answers and screens incoming calls and emails from established and prospective patients
• Collects data to help with the patient intake process, including compiling demographic, contact, and insurance information
• Ensures all required forms are signed and filled out properly
• Communicates effectively with team members to reduce conflict and enhance the resolution of imminent and/or ongoing issues
  
• Enhances patient and medical office relationship as main point of contact

A patient-centric mindset is critical in this role. The ideal candidate will serve as a patient advocate and will need to demonstrate a pleasant and compassionate demeanor, the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members, be an active listener, and skilled in calming frustrated patients that results in a more positive outcome.

Additionally, they need to be detail-oriented and should possess strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrate advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, exemplary phone etiquette, and exhibit proficiency in medical software and Microsoft office.
