Lighthouse Lab Services has partnered with one of the leading healthcare facilities in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area and we are looking for a Medical Lab Scientist to join the Transfusion department.

Position Information:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs the following:

• Routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
• Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
• Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
• May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
• Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
2 Years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and/or high complexity testing environment.

• Education Required:

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science Or medical technology requiredwith required licensure/certification and with equivalent experience

• Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology with required licensure/certification and with equivalent experience

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• ASCP or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required

Hours of Work:

• Full time, evening, Four 10 hour shifts (2p-12a) every week, every 4th weekend.
• Full time, night, Seven 10 hour shifts bi-weekly (9p-7a), every 4th weekend.
• Full time, night, Four 10 hours shifts (9p-7a), every 3rd weekend.
• Part time, night, Two 10 hour shifts weekly, (9p-7a), weekend as needed.

Salary:
Estimated $30-$40/hour
