Legal Specialist

Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance is the largest, independently owned orthopedic specialty practice in the Kansas City metro area. We have over 50 medical providers practicing out of six locations. Each team focuses on the importance of customer service, communication, and caring for patients.

We are seeking a Medical Legal Specialist who is looking for work life balance and a dynamic working environment. This role will work Monday through Friday in an office supporting the legal team.

Job Function:

The Medical-Legal Specialist is an integral part of our team. Persons filling this role will have direct communication with referral sources hoping to utilize the expertise of our providers to assist them and their patient’s with care. Qualified individuals will collect, maintain and update all relevant information for treatment of patients and payment of medical legal accounts. They will properly document all activities of these accounts, providing updates to all parties as needed. Communication and computer skills are required as well as the ability to work autonomously to complete tasks.

Requirements:

Experience: 6 months to 1 year relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Experience working with attorneys, insurers, adjusters

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Leawood, KS 66211: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Legal Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical: 1 year (Preferred)
• medical work comp: 1 year (Preferred)
