Medical Records Abstractors, Pediatrics

Temporary, Part-time

What You’ll do:

CCME is seeking medical records abstractors to abstract medical records and treatment data from a subset of patients ages 0-18.

We expect you to:

  • Participate in training;
  • Collaborate with the pediatric offices and providers that will identify and provide a list of patients whose records are to be abstracted; and
  • Abstract select results from the electronic health record into a secure database.

Who You are:

Medical records abstractors with demonstrated ability to accurately abstract pediatric-related data from medical records and reports and present findings clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.

The successful candidates have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, physicians, researchers, managers, representatives of other agencies/facilities, and the public. Must remain in compliance with data security requirements, data use agreements and HIPPA certification. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required in order to obtain and exchange information with a variety of individuals. Travel may be required.

Our requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required;
  • One year of related training or experience; prefer two (2) years of pediatric nursing; RN, LPN, PA, NP
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Skype, SharePoint)
  • Excellent investigative skills/analytic skills; and effective time management and organizational skills are required
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with a professional team
