We are seeking capable individuals for a front-line teller role, who also have the skills and initiative to take on additional service or supervisory tasks. Employees who perform well will be considered for advancement to other available assistant management roles.

The duties required of front line tellers include:

  • Greet and welcome members in a courteous, professional, and timely manner and build relationships with the membership
  • Provide comprehensive, prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
  • Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and accurately enter deposits into computer records.
  • Process withdrawals from accounts and/or share draft/check cashing, verify amounts, and enter withdrawals into system accurately. Cash share drafts/checks from a variety of accounts upon proper verification according to credit union policies and procedures.
  • Assist with mail or e-mail transactions, when available.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Issue cashier checks, money orders, and CDs.
  • Balance cash drawer at end of the shift and compare totaled amount to computer-generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary. May help other tellers research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
  • Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
  • Cross-sell credit union services such as debit cards, credit cards, on-line banking, or other promotional products.

As mentioned, we are considering new hires, based off performance, to fill an assistant management role as well. Additional duties and skills required for this position are:

  • Access/assist with ordering cash and receiving cash shipments. Make transfers to/from the vault and perform vault audits.
  • Open new memberships and accounts
  • Assist members with credit/debit card issues: Ordering cards, activating cards, investigating denied transactions
  • Fielding complaints from members
  • Providing guidance and coaching, and occasional discipline, to front line staff when necessary
  • Help encourage front line staff to meet sales goals
  • Assist w/ audits in branch of teller drawers, cash machines, security systems,
  • Conducting oneself as an example of professionalism and the Credit Union’s core values

This is an in person position with no remote work options available.
