Job description
Position Summary This position consists of 24 hours per week 7:00a-7:00p day/evening shifts, E/O weekend rotation.
We are seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our team at Pen Bay Medical Center! The Mental Health Technicians (MHT) are essential members of the Psychiatric, Recovery, and Addictions Care Team by conducting technical and supportive care functions. The scope of patients range from treatment for acute psychiatric conditions, detoxification from alcohol and other substances, ranging from 18 years through geriatrics.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
License/Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification or obtain within one month of hire; current workplace safety training (MOAB or CPI) within six months of hire.
Experience: One year experience working in a healthcare setting required or current enrollment in a healthcare field of study required; 6 months experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology.
- Articulates an understanding of appropriate approaches with individuals experiencing significant psychological illness
