Overview
:The Merchandise Copywriter creatively names and describes Shane Co. fine jewelry while incorporating SEO keywords to increase searchability.
Responsibilities
:- Regularly improve process and workflow for product naming and descriptions.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with the photo studio and digital merchandisers on the status of product copy.
- Name, write descriptions and SEO meta descriptions for new products as they launch on the site.
- Strategically name existing products and update product names, descriptions, and meta descriptions.
- Produce and share all final copy for eCommerce partners for publication.
- Partner with SEO team to ensure products show up in SERPs.
- Work directly with the product in the office and in partnership with the buying team to ensure all product details are accurate (i.e. weight, gold type, size dimensions, etc.).
- Incorporate Shane Co. selling techniques and unique brand propositions into product copy to differentiate our products from the competition.
- Work on collection naming and descriptions.
- Partner with the merchandising and training teams to learn about new products and materials.
- Work on other marketing copy as needed for the website, email, stores, etc.
Qualifications
:- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience, retail sales experience environment preferred.
- 1+ years of eCommerce copywriting or similar experience.
- Basic knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to bring a progressive and modern tone and voice to a brand while still staying within a brand’s guidelines.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with little need for editing.
- Ability to take creative direction constructively.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of jewelry, metals, and gemstones a plus.

Work Environment
:
The primary environment for this role is a combination of an open office and a remote workplace. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role is expected to be on-site in Home Office 1-2 days per week on an ongoing basis. Note that all hybrid and remote work conditions are covered in the Company’s current Remote Work Policy and Remote Work Agreement, incorporated here by reference. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events up to 5% of the time.

The salary range for this role is $23.25-$26.25 per hour. The range describes the minimum to maximum likely rate for this job description in the state of Colorado. Individual pay will be determined based on skills and qualifications for the role.
