Position Summary
The merchandise manager will manage the DNC online store and all printed merchandise for the DNC, working closely with the direct marketing team, email team, design team, and donor cultivation team. This includes developing data-driven monthly plans for creation and promotion of merchandise with a focus on maximizing revenue for the DNC.
What You'll Do:
- Own and track the fundraising budget for the DNC online store and projects related to printed materials paid for by the DNC;
- Conceptualize and organize the promotion of the DNC online store in a data driven way that maximizes revenue;
- Manage the creation of photo and description content for merchandise for the online store. Manage the creation and vetting of merchandise materials for the DNC online store;
- Oversee and monitor the promotion of DNC merchandise, working with the advertising, social content, and fundraising teams to create data driven marketing plans;
- Work with the donor cultivation team to manage all store orders and customer satisfaction;
- Manage vendor relationships for printed materials;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders in ordering merchandise as needed; and,
- Other duties as assigned.
About You:
- Ideal candidate will be a team player, faster learner, and self-starter; you are willing to work hard to get the job done;
- Have the ability to work independently and on a team; the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Possess a creative eye and a strong attention to detail;
- 2-3 years relevant experience in the political realm and/or non-profit organizations;
- Experience using data analytics to drive strategy in merchandising. Understanding of industry trends and political merchandising;
- Experience managing consultants or vendors preferred;
- You must be in D.C. or be willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area.
The starting salary for the Merchandise Manager position is $65,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for overtime wages and is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
