What You Will Do as a Merchandiser

This position is responsible for creating compelling product assortments for the US Workwear Market, as well as driving assortment direction and business results focused on category/consumer. The Merchandiser works directly with the Product Manager and greater Product, Business, eCommerce and Marketing teams, as well as third party vendors to plan, organize and develop the product line from strategic planning through launch to optimize profit and meet consumer, marketing, financial and corporate objectives.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• Participate in the development and execution of 3-5 year strategic assortment based on thorough knowledge of competitive market, brand and business.
• Support the pricing strategy to achieve targets while aligning with overall pricing direction and understanding of competition.
• Partner with Marketing and eCommerce teams to support brand messaging through focus groups, marketing immersions, trade shows, and industry events.
• Key partner in communication of business needs with management to drive the strategic direction. This person is the key liaison between design, production, ecommerce and marketing.
• Integrate with design and production partners on costing and product development.
• Generate business analyses to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities to achieve continued growth and profitability of the workwear apparel business.
• Assist in preparation for product deliverables and stage gates with 3rd party partners

Skills for Success

• 3+ years experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in apparel design, product development or merchandising
• Excellence in product line architecture and Go-To-Market process with an awareness of product creation timelines and calendar building
• Strong communication skills (oral, presentation, written, interpersonal)
• Accuracy: attention to detail, strong organizational skills, with strong sense of urgency
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabric development, fabric and garment care preferred
• Knowledge of consumer retail manufacturing and production preferred
• Ability to make basic business calculations such as margin, markup, turnover, and yield
• Travel is required; amount varies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
