Weld-Fab Manufacturing Corp, was founded by the Hahn family, started in 1990 in a small shop in Hartford, WI, doing mostly minor weldments. Over the next two decades, the family-owned business grew tremendously in scope and quality of services by investing in employees, equipment, and facilities. Weld-Fab moved its operations to a new facility in Slinger, WI, and added sheet metal fabrication, welding, and tube processing to its service offerings.

After 32 years in business, Art & Dawn Hahn sold the business to fellow locals with roots in the community and extensive experience in manufacturing. Kelly Wendorff and Kale Wenzel closed on the deal at the end of 2021, becoming the new owners.

Kelly, now serving as President, and Kale, as Vice President have started executing on growth strategies with the goal of doubling the size of the business in the next three years. Growth plans include investing in equipment, employees and ultimately expanding the size of the existing facility.

Now doing business as WeldFab Manufacturing, we have increased headcount by 50% in the first 6 months! As we add new business and continue to grow our existing, we are looking to add more talented individuals to the team!

We are currently searching for second shift Mig Welders.

Job Duties:

· Understands the process of welding and can complete welds using MIG methods to complete welding jobs and repairs

· Interpret weld symbols and place precise welds; repair weld defects if needed

· Weld in flat and horizontal positions using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process on carbon and stainless steel

· Set up components for welding according to specifications

· Perform basic weld machine maintenance such as straightening torches, changing wire barrels, contact tips, nozzles, diffusers, etc.

· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

· Measure dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications

· Log job information into computer (JobBoss)

· Proper use of measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.)

· Proper use of basic hand tools

· Perform inspection to ensure that all welds are free of scale, spatter, or any other weld appearance conditions

· Perform any other duties as assigned

Minimum skills/qualifications for the position:

  • 6+ months of prior MIG weld operation experience or equivalent schooling and work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of forming Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Galvanized, and Aluminum
  • Experience with grinding using machines as well as hand tools is a plus
  • Basic math and measurement skills (addition, subtraction, decimal, and fraction conversions)
  • Able to accurately read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
  • The ability to read/write and understand both verbal and written work instructions, work orders, and customer specifications
  • Experience with interpreting weld symbols
  • Some exposure to blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis

Hours:

3pm-1am Monday-Thursday, Friday overtime 12pm-7pm (subject to change)

Salary:

Negotiable; based on experience

$2.00/hr second shift premium
