Full Time, Tuesday through Friday 7:00am – 5:30pm. 40 hours/week.

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus Available! *not available for current BCH staff or rehires.

Pay Range is between $31.20-$46.80/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs all technical aspects of MRI procedures, consistently producing highest quality exams possible.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

Registered Technologist (ARRT) for Radiology Technology

Completion of MRI training (structured or on the job)

Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)

BLS by end of conditional period.

Active Registered Technologist (AART) for MRI, or MRI registered within:

two years from hire/transfer date for trainee, or

18 months from hire/transfer date for registry eligible staff

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

Computer knowledge

Cross sectional anatomy

Venipuncture

Good patient care skills

Ability to handle stress

Experience

One year MRI of experience/MRI training preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, position, transfer patient as needed.
  • Perform scans with proper technical factors.
  • Photographs and hangs scans as necessary.
  • Performs injection of contrast.
  • Schedules patients.
  • Works on call as scheduled and as needed.
  • Participates in quality assurance studies.
  • Performs daily quality assurance, maintains upkeep of equipment.
  • Performs clerical duties as needed.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Screens patients/personnel for metallic foreign bodies.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit. The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).

Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.
