ABOUT PAFA
Founded in 1805, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is America's first school and museum of fine arts. Located in center city Philadelphia, PAFA is intimate in scale with a strong sense of community. PAFAs undergraduate degree offerings include a BFA in Studio Art and a coordinated BFA with the University of Pennsylvania. Graduate programs include an MFA and Low-Residency MFA degree, and a Post-Baccalaureate certificate. PAFAs museum has an outstanding collection of American art, and the museum actively collects and exhibits contemporary art, including work in new media. Additionally, PAFA is home to the Brodsky Center, a print and papermaking center focused on the creation of innovative editions by contemporary artists.

POSITION: Museum Store Sales Associate
Promotes and represents the PAFA Museum store by providing exceptional customer service to all visitors, assisting in product selection and completing transactions in a professional, friendly manner. The selected candidate will be available for one day/shift a week between Wednesday-Sunday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service including greeting and directing customers
- Completes sales transactions using POS in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintains Store areas in a neat and organized manner, and adheres to all cleaning protocols set in place for the museum per CDC standards
- Re-stocks products as needed, and communicates product needs to Store Manager
- Price, display and stock newly arrived merchandise
- Acts as a resource for questions relating to the museum, exhibitions, the complex and surrounding area and attractions
- Acts as a resource for the Store by keeping up-to-date on product knowledge, including current and new items to be able to answer customer questions
- Stays informed of shop procedures and guidelines for sales, discounts and actively promotes membership sales and membership renewals
- Packs and/or ships orders as necessary
- Completes opening and closing routines as instructed to maintain complete transaction and deposit records
- Other duties as assigned
