Qualifications
The Lift Director shall be NCCCO certified for Duke Projects.
1) Meet all training and experience requirements of Crane Supervisor.
2) Lift Directors must be designated by Project Management approved by Crane Services and documented on Crane Competent Person Form.
Responsibilities
The Lift Director shall meet all Crane Supervisor responsibilities plus:
1) Supervise or direct the entire critical lift.
2) Ensure that all rigging gear selected is suitable and sufficient for the lift.
3) Review and approve critical lift plans.
4) Conduct Pre-Lift Meetings.
5) Assess the area for possible power line hazards and implement necessary precautions.
6) Suspend the lift if there is an issue concerning safety.
7) Contact subject matter experts or engineering representatives if necessary.
8) Ensure that the Crane Operator can perform the lift within the capacity of the load chart.
9) Properly secure the area within the intended path of the load and crane from potential hazards prior to making the lift.
10) Appoint qualified Signal Person(s).
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES REQUIRED *
