Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with an innovative information security company seeking a Network Engineer to join their team. This position is 100% remote; prefer someone who is local to come onsite 1 day/week. Responsibilities:

• 
  Monitor network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN)
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• 
  Proven hands on network engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux based environments
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., Python or Bash)
• Knowledge of IP networking concepts (e.g., routing, subnets, CIDR, VLANS, LACP bonding)
• Knowledge of underlying Internet protocols (e.g., TLS, SSL, DNS)
• Understanding of VPNs (OpenVPN, Wire Guard, or IPsec)
• Work Status: due to government requirement, only US Citizens will be considered for this role
• Clearance Type: active Secret Clearance
