Hiring a Network Engineer to support a federal government customer located in Ashburn, VA. We expect a combination of remote and on-site work. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of Ashburn, VA.

Network Engineer
6-month C2H
Target Salary? $110-115,000

Government Specific:

• Clearance needed? Department of Homeland Security (DHS) / Federal Protective Service (FPS) Entry on Duty (EOD). Prior clearances will expedite onboarding and are preferred.

• Certifications Required? CCNP

Responsibilities

· Create IP network designs for telecommunications backhaul

· Troubleshooting issues in existing IP networks transported on wired or wireless/microwave links.

· Configuring & lab testing new network components

· Collaboration with core network operations team on IP addressing

· Submit change requests in change management system

· Participate in regular status updates (i.e., weekly calls, briefings, and conferences.

· Create executive briefings, presentations to stakeholders, written memorandums, and white papers

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or another related degree.

· Cisco CCNP certification

· 5+ years of IP networking experience

· Experience designing backhaul for cellular phones, land mobile radio, or similar communications networks

· Experience reviewing, evaluating & modifying vendor backhaul designs

· Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless IP networks

· Experience or familiarity with microwave or wireless mesh networks is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
