The Hole In The Wall in San Diego, CA is looking for one night club security to join our 21 person strong team. We are located on 2820 Lytton Street. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and reliable. We encourage you to talk with guests and create relationships with them. Even asking how your night is going, chances are you can tell their sobriety by their response.

Responsibilities

*ENSURE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH A TEAM EFFORT OF DILIGENT ACTIVE PATROL, STRICT ACCESS *CONTROL, MONITORING, AND EQUIPMENT CONTROL *BE VISIBLE AND OBSERVANT AT ALL TIMES, GREETING STAFF, GUESTS, AND VENDORS IN A COURTEOUS MANNER *UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT PRONOUNS, GENDER, AND SEXUAL IDENTITIES THAT OUR GUESTS MAY HAVE. WE HAVE LOTS, SO POLITELY ASK *RESPOND IMMEDIATELY TO DISTRESS CALLS, PANIC ALARMS, AND EMERGENCY CALLS FOR DISORDERLY *CONDUCT, DISRUPTIVE PERSONS, AND INCIDENTS SWIFTLY AND APPROPRIATELY *MAINTAIN THE COMPANY’S REPUTATION WITH PROFESSIONALISM AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE *COLLABORATE WITH OTHER SECURITY PERSONEL FOR EFFECTIVE PROTECTION AND COVERAGE *ABILITY TO CHECK ID'S, *HAVE GUESTS WITH PURSES OR BACK PACKS OPEN THEM FOR YOU SO YOU CAN MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT CARRYING IN WEAPONS AND DRUGS *SMILE, BE COURTEOUS YET ASSERTIVE. *NEVER REMOVE SOMEONE OUT OF THE BAR/NIGHT CLUB WITHOUT A 2ND SECURITY GUARD *YOU MAY BE ASKED BY YOUR SUPERVISOR TO DO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT ON THE LIST. BEING ATTENTIVE AND HAVING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE WILL GET YOU ALONG WAY

Qualifications

*Guard card is essential. Come with one and you'll be ahead on the list *Customer Service focused- You need to have the ability to deescalate and walk people out. If they insult on the way out just let them run their mouths. However, insulting security or any member of the bar is grounds for immediate dismissal. Once they are asked to leave they must do so immediately. *Previous experience preferred *Ability to calmly and rationally deescalate situations *Pick up empty beer bottle, pitchers and recycle them or give to bartender (primarily pitchers *Keeping an accurate head count *Making sure the bar is clean at all times *Wear a clean SECURITY shirt at every shift. One will be provided for you. I would recommend getting at least two. *Take active shooter training course which we will provide you *Wear walkie talkies and use metal detector *Keeping Fire exits clear (this includes the parking lot if someone is blocking a gate or fire exit) *Ability to distinguish real ID's from fake ones. *Anyone that looks over the age of 40 does not need to show their card. However if you are unsure it is better d=safe than sorry *Escorting unruly patrons out the door in a calm, professional. and effective manner. *Keep bartenders informed if someone is intoxicated *Our bar is a safe and fun place. That safety extends to our Patrons * Basically get your guard card, know it like the back of your hand, you are responsible for the liability of the business. Be friendly yet assertive. ALWAYS have at least two security with you

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts on Sundays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Compensation is $17.00 - $22.00/hour.
