OFFICE MANAGER

The Legislative Counsel Bureau (LCB) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Office Manager within the Audit Division. The LCB is a nonpartisan agency that provides professional, technical, and administrative support to the Nevada Legislature. The Audit Division of the LCB conducts performance audits as part of the Legislature’s oversight responsibility for public programs. The purpose of the audits is to improve state government by providing independent and reliable information about the operations of state agencies, programs, activities, and functions to the Legislature, state officials, and Nevada citizens. Position Description: The Office Manager works with the Legislative Auditor and Audit staff to ensure quality reports, accurate correspondence, and effective communications. Under the direction of the Legislative Auditor, the Office Manager supervises and reviews work performed by other support staff. Duties include a wide variety of clerical, secretarial, administrative, and office management responsibilities. The Office Manager also performs various projects under the direction of the Legislative Auditor or Audit Supervisors, including preparing and organizing legislative committee meeting documents and serving as secretary to appropriate legislative committees. The Office Manager is expected to maintain currency with best practices related to office administration and usage of the Microsoft Office suite and other software.

Salary and Benefits: The annual salary range for this position is $54,141 to $80,513 (Grade 36) under the employee/employer paid retirement option. Actual starting salary will be determined based upon experience. Benefits include accrual of paid annual leave, paid sick leave, health insurance and membership in the state’s retirement plan. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a high school diploma or an equivalent credential and will have 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible work experience.

Postsecondary education or professional certifications may be substituted for the required experience. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in using Microsoft Office software.

Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of current administrative support practices and processes. Use of Microsoft Office software is critical to this position, including the ability to type with speed and accuracy. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. Candidates must have the ability to prepare or proofread documents using proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, and style. The successful candidate will have good communication skills and be able to exercise good judgment when working with legislators, staff, and the public. In addition, candidates must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information, and adapt to changes in the work environment.

Working Conditions: This position is located in Carson City, Nevada. A flexible work schedule is available, including a 4-day work schedule. The work is performed in a typical office environment.
