Job Summary:

The ʻOhana Connections Specialist - Youth Partner (YP) will provide professional, productive, efficient, respectful, compassionate and safe services to family, social workers and service providers using a strengths-based, solution focused perspective. Optimally, the YP is a former foster youth with lived experience who has previously successfully mentored and supported youth who are in foster care. However, the YP position may also be filled by a candidate that has extensive knowledge of CWS, community supporters, trauma-informed care, and mentoring/supervision skills. The YP will bring an additional focus to existing EPIC programs on relational permanency for children and youth in care, and will both advocate for, and support, efforts to enhance those supportive relationships for the children.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have extensive knowledge of CWS, community support agencies, trauma-informed care, and supervisory/mentoring capacities and skills. Optimally, the Youth Partner Lead (YP) is a former Youth Partner who has aged out of the Youth Partner position (28-year age limit). This YP will have been successfully employed as a Youth Partner for a minimum of three years. The YP should have, at the minimum, an Associates Level degree. Must have all of the skills and competencies required by this position and be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System. Valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license, clean drivers abstract, and access to an insured, reliable vehicle.
