Full-time Opening for Oncology/Hematology Advanced Practitioner - Norwalk, Connecticut – One Hour from New York City

Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health Network has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Oncology/Hematology Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) at the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. We are located in suburban Fairfield County about one hour outside of New York City and nearby to Westchester County. Our long established and busy practice includes six physicians and two Nurse Practitioners. This is a full-time position for weekday outpatient visits. The center is open Monday through Friday with regular office hours.

The ideal candidate will be board certified and have at least 3-5 years of advanced nurse practitioner or physician assistant experience and/or equivalent nursing experience in the Hematology/Oncology setting.They are an independent thinker with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills who will co-manage the practice of a highly respected and accomplished medical oncologist/hematologist focused on GI/GU cancers, hematologic malignancies and clinical trial therapies. We are seeking excellent communications skills to facilitate patient care between hospitalists, primary care and other referring physicians as well as amongst staff. The candidate must be able to work well both with a large multidisciplinary team as well as independently.
Advanced practitioner Connecticut license, Controlled Substance Registration, and Federal DEA are required.

Our office is based in the state of the art C. Anthony and Jean Whittingham Cancer Center, located on the hospital campus. Our Cancer Center includes subspecialty practices of Breast, Gynecologic, Prostate, Lung, Hematologic and Colorectal cancers. The space is shared with surgical subspecialists in gynecologic, lung and hepatobiliary surgery. Additionally, our Center provides Diagnostic Imaging, Cancer Genetics, Dietary support, Radiation Therapy and Cancer Research Trials as well as a full complement of Social Support Services.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound.
