Position Purpose:

AMG National Trust’s wealth management and trust division has $7 billion of assets under management or safekeeping. We are looking for someone to join our team caring for those assets with the utmost safety and accuracy.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years of securities operations, accounting, income posting, or reconciliations experience, preferably working with trust accounting systems

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Respect and maintain confidential information
  • Highly proficient in working with accounting systems, such as brokerage or trust operations systems
  • Ability to reconcile accounts
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn quickly, analyze incomplete information, and solve problems
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and document processes and procedures
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of employees and clients
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and communications skills
  • Strong logic, reasoning, and judgment skills
  • Adaptable and willing to learn
  • Understanding of fixed income, equities, and other securities preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of core operating systems
  • Assist multiple departments in processing client transaction activity
  • Reconcile various types of accounts; identify, research and correct exceptions on a timely basis
  • Reconcile security holdings balances and accurately allocate and apply income to client accounts
  • Process cash receipts and disbursements
  • Receive requests for and execute account distributions and other transactions
  • Perform other operational activities and back up other positions as needed, such as new account openings, security settlement, cash transfers, securities set up
  • Research and resolve issues, initiate corrective actions, and obtain appropriate approvals
  • Accurately maintain client account records
  • Assist in account transfers and system migrations, including system uploads and spreadsheets
  • Create, maintain, and update forms for easy completion in PDF, DocuSign or similar digital formats
  • Provide excellent, timely service to internal and external clients
  • Identify and document areas for process and procedures improvement with potential solutions
  • Follow up on exceptions for timely resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
