Job Summary:
The Field Engineer (FE) reports to the Field Operations Manager and is a member of the Operations team. The FE works closely with both the design engineering and operations departments to facilitate the highest levels of communication possible. The primary role of the FE is to configure and commission systems, fabricated and installed by the operations team or our Subs, to the point of zero defects and ready to deliver to the customer. All systems are fabricated in staging labs at Mesa, AZ. At this point, the FE would configure all devices to the point that the system is functioning as engineering intended. The operations team or our Subs will physically install the system at the customer location, at which point the FE will perform the final commissioning of all systems after being fully installed. This includes audio DSP gain structure and measurement, final systems testing, signal routing verification, and final checklists using provided measurement tools. During these tasks, the FE will maintain a high level of communication with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Field Operations Manager. Physical office, Home office, and Field time are scheduled in coordination with the Field Operations Manager.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys interacting with the equipment and making complex systems designed on paper come to life. Audio quality and performance will be held in high regard as this is a common complaint from customers. Taking time to slow down and document items which can bring continuous improvement and efficiency to the company will be important.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:

- Provide feedback to the engineering department on design methodology when field issues are discovered to promote continual improvement.
- Verify all systems are communicating and functioning as expected on-site after the field installation/operations team has installed the system.
- Commission gain structure for all DSPs using provided test equipment (calibrated talkbox, SPL meters, etc.) and bring the system up to meet performance specifications.
- Final button press and validation of system operations and interfaces.
