How you’ll shape the future of the department as an Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) and Facilitator in our Machines, Finishing and Warehouse area:
  • Establish work priorities, manage work order backlog, and implement cost control/reduction while working with maintenance and engineering teams to drive reliability improvement.
  • Provide the weekly work schedules for hourly employees, facilitate management of employee time off requests and documentation, and coordinate vacancy filling as necessary to utilize resources as effectively as possible and minimize overtime.
  • Ensure accurate employee schedules/records are maintained. Review appropriate reports to monitor employee overtime and work with Area Managers to achieve designated overtime targets.
  • Facilitate departmental 5S housekeeping initiative.
  • Coordinate hourly training program with area training team member including certification, testing and training records, and on-the-job training to ensure efficient and effective employee progression.
  • Administer the area safety program including safety meetings, safety work orders, line labeling, audits, inspections, JSA’s, incident reviews/corrective actions, housekeeping, 5S projects, Life Safety Program compliance, prestart up safety reviews, etc.
  • Participate in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new employees as needed.
You’ll be someone who can bring:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a high school diploma and equivalent relevant work experience in the pulp and paper industry.
  • Five (5) years applicable work experience in a pulp mill.
  • Demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Understanding of industrial costs and their control.
  • Maintenance experience with mechanical systems and operations.
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Strong project management, coordination and follow up skills.
