RELO IS ON THE TABLE MUST HAVE FOODS, STABILITY, STRONG LEADERSHIP, LEAN MANUFACTURING AND BILINGUAL IS A PLUS. SALARY RANGE IS 130-155K

Position: Operations Manager
Job Summary: The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the plant operations for Production, Maintenance, Safety, Sanitation and Shipping & Receiving.
Job Description:
  • Direct the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customer’s requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standards.
  • Ensure that plant is compliant with all Food Safety requirements and successfully protects our customers/consumers.
  • Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedure (SOP’s) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the business.
  • Implement plant safety programs and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP’s).
  • Maintain proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation.
  • Develops production schedules in accordance with sales forecasts, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for driving Lean Manufacturing Processes and process improvement in all areas of the operation.
  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and controlling of overall plant activities.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with department managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives, including facility cleanliness for food safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Food Safety - Ensure appropriate product scheduling. Ensure product safety and quality. Stress the importance of continuous food safety to Supervisors and employees. Participate in food safety/quality meetings.
  • Food Regulation - Ensure compliance with all applicable food regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement - Initiate projects designed to evaluate and improve food safety, quality, yields, and cost. Provide leadership and support for the food safety and quality improvement process.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of products through line trials and ensures safety and optimal quality of product is achieved.
  • Food Quality - Participate in sensory evaluations. Relay Top Management communication to Supervisors/Managers regarding quality issues and quality specification changes.
Qualifications:
  • Must have 5 years of previous plant experience, preferably in protein industry.
  • Must have experience leading continuous improvement projects
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of FDA and OSHA standards, GFSI (BRC or SQF), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Demonstrate leadership in the areas of food safety, quality assurance and plant regulatory.
  • Must have strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high-speed manufacturing environment, multitasking with strong attention to details.
  • Exhibit sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated record of success and overachievements.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growing company and able to adapt to change quickly.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and proactively looks for and suggests improvements.
